Banjosa Lake; Pakistan
In the Poonch District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, banjosa Lake is a constructed lake and a popular tourist destination that is 18 kilometres (11 mi) from the city of Rawalakot. It is situated 1,981 metres above sea level (6,499 ft).
Mountains and a thick pine forest encircle the lake. From Rawalakot, a metalled road leads to the Lake.In the area, the summers are cool and the winters are chilly. It snows here as well in December and January, when the temperature drops to -5 °C. Summertime temperatures range from 16 to 25 °C (61 to 77 °F). The Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD), the Pearl Development Authority, and the AJK Tourism and Archeology Department have some rest rooms and huts here. Near the lake, there are also a few hotels, guest rooms, and tuck stores. One kilometre (0.62 miles) away, in Chotta Gala Bazaar and Banjosa Bazaar, is a market. In this town, there are a few hotels and rest stops.
